Reflection

Each of the three MIRO-SUN® products is highly reflective and each is tailored to the individual needs of different solar and daylighting applications.

MIRO-SUN®  is weatherproof with a nano-ceramic- top coating to make it exterior-capable while retaining its high solar reflectivity. MIRO-SUN® is in use for CPC reflector mirrors, ( compound-parabolic-concentrators.) MIRO-SUN® is additionally used as mirrors in solar-thermal-collector-systems as a concentrator for heat-tubes. Its lightness allows simple cost-effective fixing systems to be used connecting the Alanod-Solar® MIRO® mirrors to the supporting framework of the collector.

MIRO-SUN® PV is used for photovoltaic collectors. Here a specially tailored MIRO® optical coating has its maximum reflectivity at higher wavelengths than the photopic-curve maximum of natural daylight. MIRO-SUN® PV matches the needs of photovoltaic silicon for best reflectivity at 750 to 950 nm - allowing MIRO® mirror concentrators to multiply the output of each photovoltaic cell.

Absorption

Four Alanod-Solar® absorptive products:  sunselect®, mirotherm®, mirosol® and mirosol-protect®.

- sunselect® is a selective absorptive coating applied to copper strip by physical vapor deposition. It has an infrared reflecting layer and metal-oxide absorption layers ensuring highest solar absorption.
- mirotherm® consists of a three layer absorptive system applied to aluminum by physical-vapor-deposition.
- mirosol® is also applied to aluminum. This surface offers an economic advantage and has slightly modified optical values. It is suitable for climates that have more than 200 days sunshine per year.

- mirosol-protect®. The new corrosion resistance surface applied to aluminium.
The first two solar absorber surfaces have the highest absorption and lowest thermal emission.
